What are the dates and hours of fasting?
We are participating in the Daniel Fast daily for ten (10) days, February 6th - February 15th from 6AM – 6PM. While fasting, we should not overindulge in eating during the evening hours.
Are you allowed to use condiments (mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressing, etc)?
Condiments include ingredients that do not align with the Daniel Fast. Italian dressing and olive oil can be used for salad dressing.
Are you allowed to use oils?
Oils that can be used include olive oil, peanut oil, coconut oil and vegetable oil.
Are you allowed to use seasoning?
Seasonings may be used as they are herbs and spices grown from the ground.
Are you allowed to eat snacks such as (potato chips, popcorn, etc)?
Due to the processing of potato chips and popcorn, they are not preferred snacks for the Daniel Fast. Better options for snacks include oats & honey granola bars, trail mix, fruit cups, and nuts.
How will this affect our evening service?
Our evening services serve as an opportunity for the body of Christ to unite in prayer, be encouraged through the Word of God, and strengthen one another. Services begin promptly at 6PM immediately followed with a Family Fellowship Meal in Room 206 prepared using Daniel Fast recipes.
If you are unable to season your veggies with meats can you use a broth?
Seasonings are allowable along with using broths.
