Some people brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch them, but his followers told them to stop. When Jesus saw this, he was upset and said to them, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children. I tell the truth, you must accept the kingdom of God as if you were a little child, or you will never enter it.” Then Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16
Our Mission Statement
To provide a safe, fun, and nurturing Christian environment for the infants and toddlers of Mount Moriah Christian Church members and visitors during the time that parents attend worship or non-worship church sponsored ministries or programs.
What is available?
The infant room is available for newborns to children 2 years old for both the 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. worship services. The infant room is also available for 3-4 year olds during the 8:15 service.
Our Wee Church is available for our three and four year old children (available during 10:15 service only).
Nursery Leadership
Our committee chair oversees the entire nursery operation. The nursery committee assists with other day-to-day duties, as well as help care for the children. Without the volunteers to help care for the children this ministry would not be successful. We greatly appreciate each and every one of our volunteers.
Parent Volunteers are Important!
Due to the large number of children cared for through our Nursery, parents whose children regularly attend may be asked to work in the Nursery. If unable to be present for their assigned time, they are responsible to secure a substitute.
Check in/out
We ask that all children be checked in and given a sticker with their name and number. All belongings also need a sticker with the child’s name and number. When checking your child out we will match your sticker number with the child before releasing them to the parent/guardian.
Ratios
For infant babies, the ratio is 1 volunteer to 4 children.
For toddlers (15-23 mo), the ratio is 1 volunteer to 5 children.
We want our babies to be healthy!
In order to protect all the children and the volunteers in the nursery, children with any of the following conditions should not be placed in the nursery. Some signs of illness in children include: (1)any degree of fever, (2)vomiting, (3)diarrhea, (4)questionable skin rash, (5)cloudy or colored runny nose, (6)unusual fatigue or irritability, (7)eye/ear infections, (8)cough that is deep or congested, (9)any contagious or communicable disease
*Any child exhibiting these signs will need to be removed from the nursery.
Recommended items to bring in diaper bags:
Diapers, wipes, bottles/sipper cups, pacifier (if used), bibs, extra clothing, plastic bag for wet clothing.
